What’s Nectar?

Nectar’s mission is to help the beekeeping industry ensure honey bees health and secure our food supply. By translating the language of bees, we aim to bring bees, beekeepers, and growers closer together.

Using technology and insights built from the use of sensors and artificial intelligence, we help beekeepers raise thriving beehives and optimize their operations while providing growers key measurements to realize the full impact of honey bee pollination on their crops.

Why do we need a Digital Product Designer?

As both agriculture and the beekeeping industry are migrating towards digital products, building products that truly answer our customer needs is critical for our success. And our design team is central to making this successful. We are looking for an enthusiastic Product Designer with strong visual skills who wish to be part of a talented team of developers, electrical engineers, data-scientist and beekeepers. 

We need someone willing to learn the business, be an advocate for the user, and design the overall user experience. Furthermore, as bees are our first client, expect field visits. Nectar provides all the necessary equipment!

In concrete terms, what does it look like?

As we are a recently funded start-up and still in its beginning, much remains to be done, both in terms of technology and marketing aspects. You will have the opportunity to build the architecture and develop the new features of the monitoring platform bee hives while having the right resources to do so.

Furthermore, as bees are our first client, expect field visits. Nectar provides all the necessary equipment and we promise it will bee amazing!


  • Design to tangibly impact on beekeepers’ and growers’ daily operations.
  • Convey your vision with the best level of formalization (workflows, wireframes, screen design, visual details, prototypes).
  • Work hand in hand with our dev team and be responsible for the form and function of the final product.
  • Maintain, guide, and push the boundaries of our design system.
  • Develop your colleagues’ ideas as well as your own."


  • Knowledge of digital product design processes
  • Strong visual design capabilities
  • A strong portfolio of products with case studies demonstrating creative problem-solving
  • Someone with an attention to detail from design concept to visual design
  • A university degree in Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, HMI or a related field
  • Proficiency in key design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Suite, pen and paper
  • Good level in French and English


  • Significative experience user interface design experience in a product-oriented company
  • Knowledge or interest in user research methods
  • Interest in data visualization and digital cartography
  • Illustration and/or iconography skills
  • Knowledge of best practices building product interfaces with HTML and CSS on one end, native mobile frameworks on another end.
  • Experience with prototyping tools such as Invision, Flow, Anima, FramerJS, etc.
