About the job

The Manager of Field Operations will lead the execution of projects with clients and other key agricultural stakeholders. This role focuses on overseeing the implementation of Nectar’s product offering with a keen focus on the implementation of rigorously structured field deployments. As a key member of Nectar’s Commercial Operations team, you’ll be the go-to person for everything involving a project's timeline and execution. This role also involves working closely with the Data Science team by implementing and managing various research and development field projects. Further, you will participate in project reporting, aimed at developing useful insights for the management team, clients, and other project collaborators.

You will work in the field with beekeepers, growers, and researchers. As such, you can expect to be visiting bee yards on a regular basis.

Based in California, you will be the first member of Nectar’s Field Operations team. As such, you will have the opportunity to help shape its development as it becomes increasingly multifaceted in its functions.


  • Manage client and other stakeholder relationships
  • Lead applied testing field installations
  • Oversee maintenance of Nectar’s equipment
  • Participate in stakeholder reporting for applied tests
  • Provide feedback to product team
  • Train and support applied testing users with product
  • Oversee execution of ground truthing 
  • Provide Product team with feedback
  • Actively participate in problem solving
  • Collaborate with developers, designers, researchers, and electrical engineers


  • 2+ years experience in project management
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (agriculture, business, or equivalent)
  • Understanding of basic statistical analysis 
  • Familiarity with beekeeping industry, honey bee pollinated crops or a background in agriculture
  • Autonomy, versatility and creativity
  • Good verbal and communication skills to understand instructions and speak with management and internal teams
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to travel 20-30% of the time within California and potentially out of state
  • Good physical health and the ability to work outdoors in all conditions
  • A valid driver’s license and no major driving infractions in the last 5 years
  • Strong level in English


  • Experience working for/with research and/or scientific organizations
  • Experience working with tech companies
  • Experience working with remote team
  • Working proficiency in Spanish and/or French


  • Full-time: 40 hours per week
  • Remuneration according to experience
